It was announced today that Jill Biden, wife of the U.S. President, Joe Biden, has tested positive for COVID-19. According to the White House, the First Lady is experiencing mild symptoms, and is following her doctor’s orders and all necessary precautions.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading infectious disease expert in the Biden administration, has said that the First Lady is doing very well, and is in good spirits. He has also commented that she is a tough lady and she is going to get over this.
Biden has had regular contact with the President since the start of his administration, and the White House said that she hasn’t had any contact with the President since her test results, as per protocols.
Although the White House has said that the President is not considered a close contact, the President’s doctor will continue to monitor his progress and health. The President himself has tested negative, on multiple occasions, and the White House has commented that he is continuing to carry out his daily duties, such as a meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada earlier this morning.
The positive test result highlights the need for all of us to take precautions and to remain vigilant when it comes to our health and well-being. Dr. Fauci has mentioned that although the case of the First Lady is a reminder of the current risk of the disease, it also is a reminder of how important it is to take the necessary precautions and to receive the COVID-19 vaccine when available. It is further proof that even if you have access to the best healthcare and medical advice, there is still a chance of contracting the virus.
Our thoughts are with Mrs. Biden and we wish her a speedy recovery.
